A veterinary clinic had opened two years earlier on one of Constanța's busiest boulevards - a bright ground-floor space, a fast-growing book of patients, a founder-vet who does everything herself. Online, though, it didn't exist. No website, no reviews anywhere, a Facebook page with 47 likes. Meanwhile a 15-year-old clinic with 183 reviews sits 200 metres down the same street, and every late-night "emergency vet Constanța" search lands on someone else. We set out to fix the single most expensive gap in the business: it was invisible in the exact moment people go looking for a vet.

The situation

Everything that makes a good local business was already in place - a prime location, real word-of-mouth, a founder people trust. None of it was reaching anyone who wasn't already walking past the door.

  • Invisible where it counts. Search "vet near Lăpușneanu" and you find the clinic down the road - not this one. New residents, referrals, and the 11 p.m. sick-pet search all default to competitors.
  • A Facebook page is not a channel you own. 47 followers, no ranking on Google, and a reach the platform can throttle overnight.
  • Nobody in the city could be booked online. We checked the whole market - every competitor runs a dense, clinical, brochure-style site, and not one offers real online booking.

That last point was the opening. The gap wasn't just this clinic's - it was the whole market's.

The idea

Make the newest clinic in town the first one you can actually book. Instead of playing catch-up with older, bigger competitors on their terms, we designed the site around the one thing none of them do - turning the booking surface itself into the pitch.

The site has one job: make a stranger trust a place they've never visited, then let them book it in two taps.

The approach

We designed mobile-first, because that's where a worried pet owner actually is - on a phone, often at night. Every decision followed from that.

  • Booking as the hero, not a buried contact form. A persistent "Book now" surface that collapses to a sticky bar on mobile, with tap-to-pick appointment slots.
  • A trust-first layout. Real photography of the clinic and its patients, a prominent space for the Google rating, and pull-quotes from owners - the signals a first-time visitor scans for before they commit.
  • The essentials, above the fold. Opening hours, an emergency phone strip, a map, and a floating one-tap call / WhatsApp button - so the answer to "are they open and how do I reach them" is never more than a glance away.
  • A clear services grid. Consultations, vaccinations, surgery, lab work - each legible at a glance instead of buried in paragraphs.

The design

The local field is a wall of clinical blues and greens - the palette every medical template reaches for. We went the other way: a warm consumer-marketplace feel closer to how people choose a place to stay than how they pick a hospital. A single warm coral accent used sparingly on a near-white page, a friendly humanist typeface, and not a hard corner anywhere. The result reads as warm, trustworthy, bookable - and, next to the boulevard's older sites, unmistakably the most modern clinic on the street.

What it's built to do

As a concept it hasn't shipped, so we won't quote numbers we didn't earn. But every choice targets a specific, measurable job:

  • Win the 11 p.m. search - be the clinic that shows up, and can be booked, when an emergency hits.
  • Own the walk-radius - beat the neighbour on convenience for everyone searching nearby.
  • Reclaim the brand's own name - so a referred customer who Googles the clinic lands on its site, not a lookalike in another town.
  • Be the first bookable vet in the city - a leapfrog, not a catch-up.

Under the hood

Founder-direct doesn't mean a lightweight build. The concept is engineered the way we build everything: fast on a mid-range phone, structured to be found on Google from day one, and backed by a personalized CMS so the owner can keep hours, services, and photos current without ever touching code - or hand it to us and never think about it again.
